JAKARTA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is continuing to build a comprehensive database of integrated cooperatives and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which has so far reached 13.4 million, the ministry said on Tuesday.
"Data collection continues, by name and by address," said Siti Azizah, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry.
Censuses and surveys carried out directly by visiting business actors one by one have reached 215 districts and cities.
A total of 9.1 million data have been collected in 2022 and another 4.3 million in 2023, in classifications, including entrepreneur identity, type of business, production process, finance, human resources and marketing.
Apart from developing and formulating targeted policies, this data will be used to improve the performance of MSMEs, which now contributes 60 percent to Indonesia's GDP.
The government is targeting all data to be collected this year. ■
