SINGAPORE, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's core inflation, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), rose to 3.6 percent year-on-year in February from 3.1 percent in January, official data showed Monday.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Monetary Authority of Singapore attributed the growth to higher services and food inflation, including seasonal effects associated with the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday.

The core CPI excludes private transport and accommodation costs to better reflect household expenses.

The all-items inflation in Singapore increased to 3.4 percent year-on-year in February from 2.9 percent in January.
