BRATISLAVA, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Ivan Korcok and Peter Pellegrini will compete in the second round of Slovakia's presidential election, the country's election commission said Sunday.
Korcok, the former foreign minister, won 42.51 percent of the vote, followed by Pellegrini, the incumbent speaker of the National Council, with 37.02 percent, during the presidential election on Saturday.
The two will advance to round two of the presidential election on April 6.
Nine candidates participated in the first round, with the voter turnout reaching 51.91 percent.
The term of office for the current head of state Zuzana Caputova will expire on June 15, 2024. ■
