QALA-E-NAW, Afghanistan, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Two persons were killed and residential houses and farmland damaged, as downpours and flash floods hit parts of west Afghanistan's Badghis province, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Thursday.
Heavy rains triggered flash floods in the provincial capital Qala-e-Naw, Darabom and Qadis districts of the province, Bakhtar quoted spokesman for provincial police Sadiqullah Sediqi as saying.
Exact figures for damages caused by the flash floods were not known yet.
Afghanistan's weather department has forecast more rains in the next two days, warning of flooding in parts of the war-torn country. ■
