JAKARTA, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia decided on Wednesday to maintain its benchmark interest rate at 6.0 percent, said an official.
The benchmark seven-day reverse repurchase rate was kept at 6.0 percent, which has stayed unchanged since October last year. The deposit facility interest rate and the lending facility interest rate were also kept at 5.25 percent, and 6.75 percent respectively.
The decision was made after a two-day policy meeting of the bank's board of governors held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
"The decision to maintain the benchmark interest rate at 6.0 percent remains consistent with the focus of pro-stability monetary policy, namely to maintain the stability of the rupiah exchange rate," Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo said at a press conference. ■
