HANGZHOU, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and 16 others injured in a vehicle collision at a vocational school in Taizhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Tuesday, according to an announcement published by the local public security bureau.
The incident occurred at about 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, when a passenger car smashed into a crowd at the Taizhou Vocational and Technical College. A total of 19 people were injured, three of them died after medical treatment failed, while the others are in a stable condition.
The driver, a 20-year-old male, is a student at the school and has been placed in police custody. ■
