KATHMANDU, March 18 (Xinhua) -- A bus veered off a highway in Nepal's Baglung district on Monday, leaving seven people dead and 20 others injured.
The bus carrying at least 34 people to Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, fell down a cliff below 150 meters. A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force rescued the victims.
"All the seven were killed on the spot," Madan KC, spokesperson for the district police, told Xinhua. "Six of the injured are in critical conditions."
Hundreds of people are killed in traffic accidents in mountainous Nepal each year. ■
