NEW DELHI, March 16 (Xinhua) -- The Indian navy Saturday said it has intercepted a hijacked cargo ship Ruen used by Somali pirates to hijack ships in the high seas off the east coast of Somalia.
The armed Somali pirates had sailed out on board of Ruen which was hijacked in December last year.
According to the navy, the vessel was intercepted on Friday and the pirates opened fire on them. ■
