HONG KONG, March 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 hit south of Fiji Islands at 0718 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 493.5 km, was initially determined to be at 25.33 degrees south latitude and 179.74 degrees east longitude. ■
