HANOI, March 12 (Xinhua) -- The United Overseas Bank (UOB) has forecast that Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) growth will reach 5.5 percent in the first quarter of 2024, compared to 3.3 percent in the same period last year, local newspaper VnExpress reported Tuesday.
It anticipates a 6 percent growth for the whole year, compared to 5 percent last year.
The Singaporean bank projected that Vietnam's inflation will continue its upward trend, with the headline consumer price index expected to stay elevated at 3.8 percent in 2024 against 3.25 percent in 2023. ■
