TRIPOLI, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Libyan Minister of Social Affairs Wafaa Al-Kilani stressed on Sunday the need to consolidate the concept of social security by caring for all segments of society to combat all kinds of crimes, especially terrorism.
She made the remarks during the First International Legal Conference for Military Justice, under the slogan "the Path to Peace under the Rule of Law", said a statement issued by the Libyan Ministry of Social Affairs.
She also affirmed the ministry's keenness to help support Libyan families economically and socially by providing financial assistance and by opening a number of centers and institutions for social services, the statement added.
Expressing gratitude for the efforts of women in Libya in general, especially those working in the military and security fields, she stressed the importance of supporting and empowering women to engage further in work within security and military institutions to contribute to building and stabilizing the society, said the statement.
The conference, which was held in the capital Tripoli and attended by a number of senior security and military officials and foreign ambassadors to Libya, aimed to discuss laws and legislation related to security and military agencies, among other topics. ■
