GAZA, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli army on Thursday warned currency exchange owners in the Gaza Strip not to engage with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a statement posted on his X account that Hamas is using the currency exchange owners to "finance its military activities."
He added that Hamas uses these funds to establish "military infrastructure for terrorist purposes such as tunnels, military command centers, and weapons."
According to the spokesman, the Israeli army recently targeted several infrastructures used by Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip and Rafah to complete currency exchange transactions "for terrorist purposes."
Adraee asked currency exchange owners to contact the Israeli army when any party reaches them for a financial transfer.
He noted that "the Defense Army and the General Security Service will work to prevent any party from transferring funds to terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip." ■
