ISLAMABAD, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Two terrorists were killed in two separate counter-terrorism operations in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, the military said on Thursday.
The security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in the Khyber and Dera Ismail Khan districts of KP, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement.
During the operation in Khyber district, an intense exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists, killing a key terrorist and a ring leader on the spot, said the ISPR statement, adding that a terrorist was killed by the security forces in another operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
A clearance operation is being carried out to eliminate the presence of terrorists from the area, the military said. ■
