SYDNEY, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Dozens of world-leading renewable energy companies attended the Smart Energy 2024, the 62nd annual conference and exhibition for Australia's Smart Energy Council (SEC), as exhibitors in Sydney on Wednesday.

Many Chinese influential companies, including AlphaESS, BYD, GoodWe, JinKo Solar and Trina Solar, were among them.

According to the official website, the event, held on March 6 and 7, is expected to attract more than 100 exhibitors and more than 10,000 delegates. Several topics including Australia's energy transition, the transition of the grid, and renewable manufacturing opportunities will be discussed at sessions of the event.

The SEC is the independent body for the Australian smart energy industry. According to its website, smart energy is zero-emissions energy, the intersection of information technology and energy, and the cheapest form of energy.

Founded in 1954, SEC is one of the oldest renewable energy organizations in the world. The council's Chief Executive John Grimes said while delivering a speech at the event that SEC's founders and members made contributions to inventing solar energy uses nowadays.

"I would say this Australian innovation plus the manufacturing scale and innovation in China, that partnership probably saved the world," he said.

Karuna Qiu, General Manager of AlphaESS' Brand Marketing Center, told Xinhua that the company has been in the Australian market for many years and become a market leader in Australia's energy storage sector.

She added that AlphaESS, as a platinum member of SEC, will follow the ongoing expansion of Australia's renewable energy market, which is promising.
