URUMQI, China, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) outfit Xinjiang Flying Tigers announced on Wednesday that Australian forward Mitchell Creek will be joining the club.

Creek, 31, arrived in Urumqi on February 20 and has been training with the team since then. The forward came off a strong season in the National Basketball League (NBL) with South East Melbourne Phoenix, where he averaged 20.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over 23 games.

Creek also helped the national team secure a fourth-place finish at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Xinjiang is currently second in the CBA standings, trailing behind the defending champions, the Liaoning Flying Leopards. The team is set to face the Shandong Heroes at home on Thursday night.
