RIO DE JANEIRO, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Flamengo have made a bid to sign midfielder Maycon from Shakhtar Donetsk, according to widespread media reports in Brazil.
The Rio de Janeiro club's representatives are currently negotiating with the Ukrainian club with a view to signing Maycon before the Brazilian transfer window closes on Thursday (March 7), sports outlet Uol reported on Monday.
Maycon, who is contracted to Shakhtar Donetsk until December 2026, is currently on loan at Corinthians.
He has played 11 times for the Sao Paulo outfit this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
The 26-year-old, who joined Shakhtar in 2018, has represented Brazil at U17, U20 and U23 levels. ■
