BEIJING, March 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 1238 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 38.4 km, was initially determined to be at 55.75 degrees south latitude and 25.68 degrees west longitude. ■
