ATHENS, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Greek police said Tuesday that 10 Greeks were arrested on suspicion of links to two domestic urban guerrilla groups during a counter-terrorism operation.
Six were detained in raids on their residences in Athens and the other four were already in prison serving sentences for other cases.
They are charged with participation in a terrorist organization, attempted murder, attacks with explosive devices and illegal possession of weapons.
According to police, they are linked to five recent attacks, including a failed attempt with a booby-trapped envelope sent to the office of a judge inside the courthouse of Thessaloniki city in northern Greece earlier this month.
If the bomb had gone off, the explosion could have caused fatalities and significant material damage, according to police sources. ■
