BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar. People usually hang colorful lanterns, play riddle games, eat sweet glutinous rice dumplings called yuanxiao, or tangyuan, and express their wishes and hopes for the future. Celebrations would be held nationwide, including traditional folk activities such as the carnival-like event Shehuo, temple fairs, and fireworks.■
