BISHKEK, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Four Czech skiers died in an avalanche in eastern Kyrgyzstan, said the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations on Monday.
The tragedy occurred at 1 p.m. local time (0700 GMT) in the Jyrgalan Valley of the Issyk-Kul region.
Twenty-three tourists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia arrived in the Jyrgalan Valley for skiing, and were caught in the avalanche, leaving four Czechs dead, said the press service. ■
