BEIJING, Feb. 24, 2024 -- Lantern Festival, the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar, falls on Feb. 24 this year.
The lantern fair in Yuyuan Garden, one of China's national intangible cultural heritages, has been a signature cultural event among the Lantern Festival celebrations in east China's Shanghai since 1995.
The theme of this year's fair is a sequel to the 2023 edition "Adventure of Mountains and Seas," which was inspired by the ancient literature "Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas)."
The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France, and is also the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism.
The Yuyuan Garden lantern fair show was also held in Paris, showcasing both the beauty of China's lanterns and the charm of China's ancient literature "Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas).
