DAMASCUS, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli missile strike hit a residential building in an upscale neighborhood in the capital Damascus on Wednesday morning, state media and witnesses said.
State news agency SANA said the strike hit a residential building in the Kafar Sousah neighborhood, providing no further details.
Meanwhile, sources and eyewitnesses told Xinhua that the Israeli attack targeted a residential apartment near the Cham City Center shopping mall and an Iranian school in Kafar Sousah. The missiles hit the fifth and fourth floors of the building, with preliminary information indicating injuries.
Sources said Israel missile strikes have become a routine in Syria and hitting residential areas usually implies an assassination attempt. ■
