KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- China got mixed results on the second day of the Badminton Asia Team Championships 2024 on Wednesday.
Its women's singles shuttler Wang Zhiyi easily outplayed India's Ashmita Chaliha 21-13, 21-15 while women's doubles duo Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning overpowered India's Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa 21-19, 21-16.
However, other two women's singles shuttlers Han Yue and Wu Luoyu were knocked out while women's doubles pair Li Yijing and Luo Xumin also failed to make the cut.
The tournament, a qualifying stage for the 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup, offers ranking points for the qualification of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. It was running from Feb 13-18 at the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor state. ■
