TEHRAN, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Two points on Iran's main gas transmission pipeline in two provinces in the center and south of the country were exploded on early Wednesday, with no casualty, the official news agency IRNA reported.

The "terrorist" blasts occurred in Khorrambid County in Fars Province and Borujen County in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province at around 1:00 a.m. local time (2130 GMT Tuesday) as a result of "acts of sabotage," IRNA reported, citing Saeid Aqli, the dispatching director of the National Iranian Gas Company.

The consequent fire had been contained in both provinces, and the operations to repair the damaged parts of the pipeline had begun, said Aqli, expressing the hope that the pipeline would become operational at the earliest time.

No one was hurt in the incidents, and there was no problem with supplying gas to different Iranian cities. However, a number of the nearby villages were faced with problems of gas supply, according to Aqli, who assured that the problems would be resolved as soon as possible.

Immediately after the incidents, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, his deputies and officials of the country's security apparatuses held a crisis management meeting to make the necessary decisions, said Aqli.
