DAMASCUS, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Loud explosions were heard in the western countryside of the Syrian capital of Damascus after midnight, witnesses said and local media reported early Saturday.
The explosions were heard in the outskirts of the Dimas area west of Damascus, according to witnesses and the Sham FM radio.
Details about the nature and cause of the explosions remain unclear. ■
