KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- People enjoyed colorful lanterns with Chinese characteristics in a joyful and festive atmosphere ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year in Selangor state, Malaysia.
The Chinese Lunar New Year, or the Spring Festival, falls on Feb. 10 this year to kick off the Year of the Dragon.
In Chinese culture, Dragon holds a significant place as an auspicious and extraordinary creature, symbolizing power, nobility, honor, luck and success.
