VLADIVOSTOK, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Pacific Fleet conducted a drill in the Primorsky Territory, using its Bastion coastal missile systems to fend off a simulated attack by "enemy" ships, the fleet said on Wednesday.
"In the Primorsky Territory, with crews of the Bastion coastal missile systems of the Pacific Fleet, an exercise was conducted to repel an attempted attack from the sea by surface ships of a mock enemy," the fleet said.
The drill scenario was that the enemy's landing ships were approaching the coast of Primorye to establish a foothold and deploy forces. The missile unit of the Pacific Fleet reached the designated areas beforehand, where they set up the launchers of the Bastion missile systems.
The servicemen prepared the systems for combat and fired at the surface targets, without using actual missiles, from a distance of about 150 km. ■
