DOHA, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- The 16-year-old Chinese Yang Shuncheng secured the gold medal in the men's solo technical event at the Doha World Aquatics Championships on Monday night.
Yang took the stage as the last competitor in the final, with Italian Giorgio Minisini posting a formidable score of 245.3166, surpassing Yang's preliminary performance.
"I felt a lot of pressure at that moment, but I turned that pressure into motivation to push myself to do better," expressed Yang. "I never thought I would win, I'm very satisfied with this result."
Yang clinched the gold with 246.4766 points, while Gustavo Sanchez from Colombia secured the third spot with 231.0000 points. ■
