ISLAMABAD, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has concluded printing of 260 million ballot papers for the forthcoming general elections scheduled on Feb. 8, the ECP said in a statement late Sunday.
The ballots for the national assembly are printed on green paper, whereas the provincial assembly ballots are printed on white paper, the ECP said.
The printing process involved three government press agencies to ensure the production of ballot papers for all 859 constituencies across the country.
The ECP said that this year, 40 million more ballots were printed as compared to the last general elections in 2018, owing to a significant rise in the number of voters.
The ECP will also complete the ongoing distribution of the ballots to the returning officers of the constituencies on Monday.
The ECP said despite all hurdles and limited time, the commission fulfilled its responsibility to print the papers. ■
