DOHA, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Since the beginning of the latest Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Western news organizations have "repeatedly published unsubstantiated claims, told one side of the story and glossed over violence selectively to justify Israel's violations of international law and shield it from scrutiny," Al Jazeera has reported.
As in the past, Western media outlets reporting from Gaza are once again telling the story of the victors, it said in an opinion article published on Friday.
The article cited a New York Times report in 2022 on the deaths of six Palestinian children as a textbook case of Western media's biased reporting, in which the author "waited until the second paragraph to mention that six children were among those killed by Israeli strikes."
With their reports full of egregious errors, Western journalists are "mediating" the conflict in Palestine, not simply reporting on it, said the article.
The reporters will never know what it feels like to live in occupied territory, and they engage in voyeuristic reporting without using a moral compass or showing a sense of decency, it said. ■
