Jovic's late winner lifted AC Milan 3-2 over Frosinone to remain third in the Serie A standings.
ROME, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- AC Milan continued its unbeaten run in Serie A as substitute Luka Jovic's winner helped the Rossoneri beat Frosinone 3-2 away on Saturday.
Milan had managed five wins and two draws in its last seven league outings and entered into Saturday's game with the same starting line-up.
The away side broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when Rafael Leao's floated cross found Olivier Giroud for a header.
However, Leao's handball in the box minutes later awarded Frosinone a penalty, Juventus loanee Matias Soule stepped up to convert it, before the Argentinean's smart pass allowed Luca Mazzitelli to turn around the game in the 65th minute.
Milan got back on level terms in the 72nd minute when Giroud nodded for center-back Matteo Gabbia to steer in a diving header, grabbing his first Serie A goal.
In a bid for a win, Milan threw on Jovic in the 79th minute and the Serbian proved his super sub role again as he capitalized on the opposites' error to score the winner just two minutes after coming off the bench.
With the win, Milan now sits third with 49 points, four points behind Juventus who visits Serie A leader Inter Milan on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Bologna trailed twice but still beat Sassuolo 4-2, while the fixtures between Empoli and Genoa, Udinese and Monza finished with 0-0. ■
