RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Fluminense have secured a loan deal for highly rated Colombian winger Jan Lucumi, the Rio de Janeiro club said on Friday.
The reigning Copa Libertadores champions will have the option to make the move permanent when the loan expires on December 31.
"It makes me immensely happy to be able to represent the champions of South America," the 19-year-old said in comments published on Fluminense's official website. "I have worked hard for this and I hope to make the most of my chance."
Lucumi is currently contracted to Colombian side Boca Juniors de Cali and has represented Colombia at U-20 level.
He is Fluminense's seventh new signing of the 2024 season, joining Renato Augusto, Gabriel Pires, David Trans, Antonio Carlos, Felipe Alves and Douglas Costa. ■
