VIENTIANE, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese state-run national radio broadcaster, the Voice of Vietnam, has handed over equipment to Lao National Radio to help improve its operations, local media reported on Thursday.
A handover ceremony was held here on Tuesday, attended by officials from both broadcasters, including Laos' Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Phosy Keomanivong and Vice President of the Voice of Vietnam Tran Minh Hung, according to a Lao Economic Daily report.
Speaking at the ceremony, Phosy said the Lao broadcaster would make good use of the equipment and maintain it carefully.
The partnership between the two state-run radio stations will support social and economic development in Laos and assist the Lao government in its broadcasting endeavors, he added. ■
