MADRID, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid youngster Peter Federico has joined La Liga rivals Valencia on loan until the end of the current season to help boost their attacking options.
Valencia announced the deal, which also includes a clause that allows them to make the move permanent at the end of the current season for an estimated two million euros, on its website on Wednesday morning.
"The 21-year-old footballer arrives on loan until the end of the season and Valencia CF will have an option to buy," explains the club, adding that Peter has spent his "entire career with Real Madrid" and made his official debut in December 2021.
The youth international with the Dominican Republic made two further first team appearances last season, but has since not returned to the first team, where his progress has been blocked by players such as Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.
He has made 114 appearances for Real Madrid's B-team (Real Madrid Castilla) and scored 13 goals, while providing numerous assists with his left foot.
Although Peter will strengthen Valencia's attack, it does look as if they will end the transfer window weaker in defense, with experienced Brazilian stopper Gabriel Paulista set to join Atletico Madrid. ■
