China's top political advisor meets Rwandan Patriotic Front delegation

BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met on Tuesday with a delegation led by Wellars Gasamagera, secretary general of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF).

Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said that in recent years, the two countries' leaders have maintained communication and exchanges in various ways, leading the continuous development of bilateral relations.

China is willing to work with Rwanda to consolidate strategic mutual trust, deepen high-quality cooperation on jointly building the Belt and Road, strengthen international coordination and push friendly China-Rwanda relations to a new level, Wang said.

He noted that the CPPCC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Rwandan side and make more contributions to the development of bilateral relations.

For his part, Gasamagera said that the RDF cherishes the brotherly friendship with the CPC, admires China's remarkable development achievements and thanks China for its long-term support for the development of the country.

Rwanda adheres to the one-China principle and is willing to strengthen the exchange of experience with China on party and state governance, achieve common development, jointly implement the three major global initiatives and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, he said.
