ULAN BATOR, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- One more death was reported following a recent gas tank explosion here in the Mongolian capital, bringing the total death toll to four, the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center said Saturday.
"Unfortunately, a citizen with burns of over 80-90 percent of the body due to the explosion died last night at the hospital," the center said in a statement.
A tanker reportedly carrying 60 tons of liquefied natural gas exploded at an intersection in the southeastern district of Bayanzurkh in the capital at around 1:07 a.m. Wednesday local time (1707 GMT Tuesday) due to a vehicle crash.
More than 10 others were injured during the explosion, and some of them are in critical condition, according to the center.
Over 30 vehicles were burned, and several nearby buildings partially collapsed due to the explosion, the country's National Emergency Management Agency said.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway. ■
