5.6-magnitude quake hits northwest China's Xinjiang

BEIJING, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolted Wushi County in Aksu Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 4:01 a.m. Friday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter, with a depth of 18 km, was monitored at 41.29 degrees north latitude and 78.83 degrees east longitude, said the CENC.
