MOSCOW, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Western intelligence agencies are training Ukrainian saboteurs to carry out provocations against Russian nuclear power plants, the Russian foreign intelligence head said Friday.
"I can give examples when Western intelligence services, primarily the British MI6, are training Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups whose plans include carrying out provocations at nuclear power plants in the Russian Federation," Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, told Russian's RIA Novosti news agency in an interview.
Russia reportedly neutralized such Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups last year.
In September 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the detained members of one of those sabotage groups confessed that they were trained under the guidance of British instructors. ■
