MOSCOW, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Russia plans to send 10 manned spacecraft and 15 cargo ships to the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) from 2028 to 2033, according to local media.
The country plans to send three Orel new-generation manned spacecraft and three Progress ROS cargo ships in 2028, and one manned spacecraft as well as three cargo ships in 2029, local media reported, citing Vladimir Solovyov, general designer for manned complexes and systems of Russia.
Two more Orel spacecraft and three cargo ships will be launched to the ROS in 2030. This will also be the year when Russia plans to complete the construction of the station "in its minimal configuration."
In 2031, another three cargo ships and one manned spacecraft will be launched, and in 2032 two manned spacecraft and three cargo ships will be sent to the ROS.
One more Orel spacecraft will be sent to the Russian station in 2033, as well as three more Progress cargo ships.
All launches will be carried out from the Vostochny Cosmodrome, a Russian spaceport located in the Far East.
The Russian Orbital Station is planned to be orbited by 2027, as the International Space Station resources are exhausted, said Russian President Vladimir Putin in October 2023. ■
