KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Preparations for China's Spring Festival in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur are in full swing with grand decorations, especially big and small red lanterns in gold and red colors, seen around the city.

The Spring Festival, which embodies the idea of "gratitude and blessing", "reunion and harmony" and "a new beginning of everything", profoundly expresses the common ideals and aspirations of all human beings, and has gradually become culture bond of China and other peoples in the world.

The Spring Festival, falling on Feb. 10 to kick off the Year of the Dragon, has been officially listed as a UN Floating Holiday in the UN Calendar of Conferences and Meetings starting from 2024.
