Sixth-seeded Shi, who faltered at last week's Malaysia Open final, topped the podium with a tough 23-21, 21-17 victory over unseeded Lee Cheuk-yiu of Hong Kong, China.

"Since the second half of last year, I have been going through a difficult time. I am eager to win every championship and give my all in every game. I'm really happy that I made it today," said Shi after the final.

In the women's singles, fourth seed Tai eased past China's Olympic champion Chen Yufei 21-16, 21-12 in just 42 minutes, winning her first India Open gold medal.
