RAMALLAH, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least seven Palestinians were killed on Wednesday by Israeli strikes in the West Bank, Palestinian medical and security sources said.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said in a statement that an Israeli drone strike killed four people inside the Tulkarm refugee camp in a massive military operation on Wednesday morning.
Local Palestinian sources told Xinhua that there was heavy gunfire and reconnaissance aircraft were flying over the skies of the city of Tulkarm, adding that the Israeli forces were also bulldozing and destroying the roads and infrastructure in the camp.
The Israeli military confirmed it carried out a broad operation in the Tulkarm refugee camp, in which it killed several "terrorists."
The PRCS reported earlier Wednesday that the Israeli army bombed a Palestinian vehicle in the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, leading to the death of three Palestinians, including two brothers from the Balata refugee camp in Nablus.
The deaths brought the number of Palestinians killed by Israel in the West Bank to at least 360 since a new round of violence erupted on Oct. 7, 2023, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported. ■
