GABORONE, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi said Monday that he's prepared to campaign and believes that he will be reelected the president of Botswana.
Masisi made the remarks at a press conference after he and his wife registered to vote for the general elections in his hometown Moshupa village, about 62 km from Gaborone, the capital of Botswana.
He emphasized that everyone taking part in the upcoming general elections must obey the law and accept the outcome when it comes, adding that if there is any suspicion that something went wrong, there are legal procedures in place that allow anyone to dispute the election.
Botswana will hold its next general elections in 2024 on the exact month and date yet to be announced. ■
