BERLIN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Coach Thomas Tuchel might feel relieved after Max Eberl is closing significant gaps for Bayern Munich from March 2024 on.

The 50-year-old former Moenchengladbach and Leipzig CEO is said to join the Bavarians and cover external communication aside from his leading job as one of the club's board members.

Over the past months, Tuchel involuntarily was forced to act as the 2020 treble winner's speaker dealing with all sorts of media contacts.

By appointing Eberl, the Bavarians not only added one of Germany's most successful managing directors to their board but former president, influential Uli Hoeness, has reached his goal to implement one of his closest buddies.

According to several media reports, Eberl is signing a long-term contract after his noisy dismissal in Leipzig. Bayern is said to pay under five million euros to Leipzig to compensate the deal.

In May 2023 the collaboration with former German national keeper Oliver Kahn and former Bayern striker Hasan Salihamidzic ended in turmoil after both failed to create consistency as successors of the overall successful duo Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Eberl comes with the reputation of having designed the upswing of Moenchengladbach and Leipzig.

The Bavarian-born turned into one of the most praised managing directors proving a perfect nose for undetected talents and bargain deals on the European markets.

More than expected, Hoeness and Rummenigge were forced to interfere after their announced retirement as things seemed to get out of order for Bayern.

The new arrival is said to be a perfect match when it comes to Bayern's current sporting director Christoph Freund as both worked closely together when employed by the Red Bull clubs Salzburg and Leipzig.

Former defender and Bayern amateur performer Eberl is said to step in the direct line below Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen as the superior of Freund and technical director Marco Neppe and is closely engaged in the daily work with coach Tuchel.

The Bayern coach said things fit perfectly as he can concentrate on his coaching work when the season's crunch time is approaching in spring 2024.
