ABIDJAN, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Cote d'Ivoire beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in the opening match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Abidjan on Saturday.
The goals were scored by Seko Fofana in the fifth minute and Jean Philippe Krasso on 59 minutes.
Cote d'Ivoire plays in Group A with Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria meet Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
The top two in the group qualify for the next round. ■
