VILNIUS, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Lithuania's ice dancing pair Allison Reed and Saulius Ambrulevicius took bronze medals at the European Figure Skating Championships taking place in Kaunas, Lithuania on Saturday evening.
This is the first time for a Lithuanian couple to win a medal at a figure skating competition of such a level since 2006, when Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas finished third at the European Figure Skating Championships.
The pair received 122.64 points for their free dance and 203.37 points in total, representing a personal best for the couple.
Italian pair Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri won the gold medal, and the silver went to Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson of Britain.
The 2024 European Figure Skating Championships runs from January 10 to 14, with Lithuania hosting a figure skating competition of this level for the first time. ■
