KIEV, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's annual budget deficit reached 1.33 trillion hryvnias (35 billion U.S. dollars) in 2023, up 46 percent from the previous year, according to data published by the country's Finance Ministry on Tuesday.
Last year, the budget revenues stood at 2.67 trillion hryvnias (71 billion dollars), while expenditures amounted to 4 trillion hryvnias (106 billion dollars), the ministry said.
The value-added taxes on goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine and the taxes on domestically produced goods and services were the major sources of revenue for Ukraine's budget in 2023.
Besides, Ukraine's budget attracted about 30.9 billion dollars from external sources in 2023.
In 2022, Ukraine posted a budget deficit of 911.1 billion hryvnias (24 billion dollars). ■
