RAMALLAH, Dec 30, (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian was killed on Saturday by Israeli gunfire, allegedly for carrying out a car-ramming attack in the West Bank that injured an Israeli, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.
In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry said it informed the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority, which coordinates with Israel on civilian matters, of the killing at the entrance of the al-Fawwar refugee camp in Hebron, the south of the West Bank.
Local Palestinian sources said Israeli forces stationed at the entrance of the camp fired intensively at a vehicle, resulting in the death of its driver.
Israeli media reported that a car-ramming attack occurred in Hebron, and Israeli soldiers in the area fired at the assailant in response, adding that an Israeli was injured in the incident.
The area witnessed Friday another car-ramming attack, after which, a Palestinian youth was shot dead and four Israeli soldiers were injured, one in critical condition. ■
