YANGON, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar earned over 2.36 billion U.S. dollars from the export of natural gas between April 1 and Dec. 15 this year, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Saturday.
The primary contributors to this foreign revenue were the four offshore natural gas production projects of Yadana, Yedagun, Shwe and Zawtika, collectively driving the majority of the country's natural gas exports.
During the period, the export of natural gas secured the second position in Myanmar's foreign revenue earnings, trailing only behind the export of finished garments, which netted more than 3.1 billion dollars, the ministry's data showed.
The Southeast Asian country's overall export earnings during the period reached over 10.13 billion dollars, according to the data.
Thailand, China and Japan stand as the three primary destinations for Myanmar's exported goods during the period, said the ministry. ■
