LONDON, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Two men have been killed while two others were seriously injured in a house fire in Croydon, a town in south London, police said on Saturday.
The blaze occurred at around 11 p.m. local time on Friday, United Kingdom's Metropolitan Police (Met) said.
A spokesperson for the Met said that officers attended along with the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service and two men, with no further details, were pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to inform their next of kin, the spokesperson added.
Two other men are in a life-threatening condition in hospital, while a fifth victim has been discharged after suffering minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. ■
